So, i’m cruising at 35,000 feet, i’ve got my shoes off, and my feet up while typing away on my laptop.  I’m on a flight back to the Big Apple from a restful few days in South Beach with a pop-in at Wilhelmina Miami – located in the hottest hotel on the Beach – Gansewoort South.  So, let’s start with who I saw at the hotel – First, there was Calvin Klein getting out of his Black Bentley Roadster convertible on Ocean Drive.  My friend Carol saw New York designer Tommy Hilfiger sun-tanning on the roof deck of our hotel with his son Rich Hill, (co-CEO of Young Rich & Famous and Heart Culture Clothing Company.)  – but to top it all off I saw Dev Patel, the young star of the new film Slumdog Millionaire, promoting his movie before the Academy Awards and hanging out with what looked like his family (guess he did a good job promoting**WON BEST PICTURE**).  The pool scene on  the hotel roof deck was swarming with tons of gorgeous young men and woman this Presidents Day.  This was a very special weekend, it was my husband and my 1st Valentines Day as a married couple.  It was incredibly romantic.  We arrived at our hotel room, and to my surprise, my husband had arranged the ENTIRE room to be filled with long stem roses!! – When I walked through the door I felt like the luckiest woman in the world – like a real star. 

My philosophy is to always combine business with pleasure.  Although I had an event at the Wilhelmina office, I was celebrating with with my husband, and planned to see my family.  This trip was planned to give my “SUMMER IN THE CITY” talk to our young models with Wilhelmina Miami interested in coming to NYC for the summer.  Summertime in  NYC gives way to some of the most adorable young surfer types in the industry.  Wilhelmina Miami certainly has a number of these beauties ready for the big city.  We always find that  those models that are successful in Miami can be as successful in the Big Apple during the summer.  Lots of adorable models that will be very busy when they come to New York.
