Next Direct, England’s premiere clothing & home goods outfitter just found their next model! Five year old, Savannah Loeffler from Slidell, LA was the lucky winner to receive the exceptional grand prize of a $100,000 educational scholarship fund and a one year modeling contract with Wilhelmina Models. Savannah will also be participating in a photo shoot for Next Direct’s childrenswear line.
Last weekend I flew to Los Angeles to help judge the Next Direct competition. The whole event was a lot of fun and there couldn’t have been better weather in L.A! The whole event was held at Milk Studios right outside Universal Studio’s. The 50 finalists of the contest were flown to L.A. for the weekend and even got an exclusive tour of Universal.
Judging the contest was quite difficult because all the contestants had a different look and personality. A lot goes into any decision to bring on a young model. Not only does the model have to have a certain level of natural beauty but their personality and stage presence is VERY important. I always look for that “twinkle” in the eye of the young hopeful. There has to be that extra something.
The entire event was a lot of fun! Congrats to Savannah and all the finalists!

Congratulations to Taylor Swift who racked up 6 nominations at this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards! One of the nominations is for the top award – Entertainer of the Year! Glee doesn’t return to FOX until April 13th, but the cast has just announced a VERY exciting seven-date, four-city LIVE show! Starting May 18th, fans will get a chance to catch the cast in Phoenix, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. They’re promising to sing all their smash hits like “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Sweet Caroline” and “Jump.” Perfect for all you gleeks out there!
We are super excited for Eclipse, the third flick in the Twilight Saga series, which comes to the big screen on June 30th. But fans are already anxious for the final book, 756-page Breaking Dawn, to be made into a movie! Actress tells fans not to worry: “Breaking Dawn is definitely happening,” she spills. “But whether or not it’s two [moviesKristen Stewart is still in question. I feel like it deserves two.” We agree – when it comes to Twilight, more is always better!
The thrid season of Gossip Girl returned to the CW last night after a few month hiatus where Chuck’s family, Blair’s social status, and Serena’s love life are finally unraveling.
