Rihanna rockin’ the masculine look in Hawaii

Hey JAM Girls, want to go shopping and NOT spend any of that hard-earned allowance money? Look no further than your brother’s closet!

Some of the hottest names in fashion have featured their female models in masculine, edgy clothes. This style has been on the scene for decades and has recently been made popular by celebs like Rihanna, Jessica Alba, Miley Cyrus, and Hilary Duff!

Oversized blazers, baggy jeans, trousers, suspenders, loafers, brimmed hats, and even neck ties are all HOT right now!

Here’s an easy way to get you started with your chic new look: Throw on a pair of comfy loose-fitting jeans and cuff them a few times (make sure you wear a belt to keep them from falling!) Pair a scoop-neck tee under a blazer that is one or two sizes bigger than what you’d normally wear. Complete the look with Converse or Vans sneakers, and a few bangle bracelets for a feminine touch.

Jump into your brother’s closet and see what you can find!

Selena’s line is reflective of her own style, which she describes as ” pretty, feminine and bohemian.” According to Women’s Wear Daily, the line will include floral printed tops, dresses, jeans, skirts, and accessories like bags and scarves. We can’t wait to see what Selena and her team of designers come up with! What do you guys think of Selena as a fashion designer?

Calling All Fashion Designers!

Monday, October 5th, 2009

For all of you fashion lovers and aspiring designers out there, it’s about time you met 17 year-old Kira Plastinina, one of the world’s youngest fashion designers! “When I was 14, I flirted with cute boys on the bus, experimented with too-dark lipstick, and spent a significant amount of time worshiping boy bands like 98 degrees,” said Kira. Sound familiar? But by the time she was 15 she had opened more than 50 clothing stores all over Russia, the Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and the US. At 16 she debuted her high-end line, Lublu K. Plastinina, and at 17 she presented her second Lublu collection at Milan’s Fashion Week! Do you like Kira’s designs? We want to hear about your passion for fashion!
